After attending North Laurel High, Amy attended Cumberland College. She graduated in May 1999 with a B.S. Degree.
Amy then attended Indiana University and obtained a Doctor of Optometry Degree in May 2003. While she was attending Indiana University, she did Internships at Commonwealth Eye Surgery, Lexington VAMC, both in Lexington, Kentucky. She also did internship at Ireland Army Hospital, Ft. Knox, Kentucky and Atwater Eye Care Clinic in Bloomington, Indiana.
After obtaining her Degree from Indiana University, Amy was employed by Huffman & Huffman PSC on July 3, 2003. Amy worked out of London, Somerset and Harlan. In 2017, when Huffman & Huffman, PSC opened their practice in Hazard, Amy also started seeing patients there. She currently spends one day a week in each office.
Amy’s hobbies include horses, goats and making soap. Amy and her husband, Wes have horses and decided to purchase some dairy goats to support the foals in case a mare had inadequate milk. The goats produced more milk than was needed for the foals and Amy & Wes decided to try making soap (Amy had a biology major and chemistry minor in college). After waiting a long four weeks for the first batch of soap to cure, Amy tried the soap and loved it She now sells her soap on line and also retail.
